Nelson Teran is a Mexican singer-songwriter from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, with an artistic career spanning more than four decades. A distinctive voice in contemporary trova, folk, and traditional Latin American music, he has released albums with Sony Music, Universal Music, Musimex, and independent labels.
His music has reached audiences throughout Mexico and the United States, as well as internationally in Colombia, Canada, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Sweden. His artistic contributions have earned him numerous honors, including recognition as a “Distinguished Son” of his hometown, “Latino Pride,” and “Matamoros Pride.”
Teran also composed “Avenida Abismo” for the award-winning international film Bordando la frontera, inspired by a true story of immigration to the United States.
